Local News: Brandywine, Orleans and Toll Brothers Plans

Its been a busy week for developers in the township and boro. What do you think of the proposals on the table?

Toll Brothers can start Frost-Watson development: The Courier reports: The Newtown Borough Council unanimously approved the revised final subdivision and land development plan for the first phase of the project, which includes three residential lots on Washington Avenue and roughly 24 lots between South Centre Avenue and North Penn Street. Storm water management is still a major issue facing the boro residents. Still much work to be done to tame Ol' Skunky. [link]

Orleans plan in the township: The Courier reports: Orleans Homebuilders passed the first step to build a residential development in Newtown Township. The board of supervisors unanimously approved a conditional use and preliminary plan Wednesday night for the developer's proposed 18-home residential community. [link]

Brandywine plan under review with no decision made: The Courier reports: The township zoning board met Thursday review the Brandywine Realty plan...no decisions yet. The board will continue next month and a special meeting will be held for public comment. [link]

Newtown Democrats adopt by-laws and elect officials

At the April 12 meeting of the Newtown Democrats the bylaws of the Newtown Democratic Committee were adopted. The "Newtown Democrats" is a political committee organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is dedicated to working for the election of democrats in Newtown Borough and Newtown Township as well as democratic candidates representing Newtown at the county state and federal levels.

The Newtown Democrats also elected the following as members of the Executive Board:
