Stockburger’s neighbors get answers [link]

June 15th Newtown residents were given answers to the question/concerns put forth at the June 1st meeting of the Joint Downtown Newtown Corporation.

Bruce Toll, owner of the Reedman/Toll dealership in Langhorne, read a letter to residents that said Chrysler would not support the move. "Of course I will protest the move," said Toll, whose dealership lies less than 5 miles away. "I spent a lot of money buying and rehabilitating [the dealership]."

A lot of talk about the proposed move of Stockburgers to the bypass and of the survey being suported by the Newtown Township supervisors.

Council composes cooperation letter [link]

Newtown Boro Council sent a letter to the Stockburger family stating Newtown will work with the future owners of the property. The letter did not support or oppose the move directly.



Newtown Township - Sweeps week is over

The ebb and flow of attendance at Newtown Township Supervisors meetings was highlighted in a recent Courier article. [link] Democratic candidate for supervisor, Phil Calabro commented on the political nature of the public comments comparing them to "sweeps week".
